A man. A House. A bed. All he wants to do is get some sleep. The duo, Kelly Holmes and Joe Barcham, makes up the core element of Koroshiya Films forming an unusual but extremely productive co-directing team. Drawing influences from shared filmic inspiration the two create cinema that dares not to spoon-feed its audience. They want to create a hybrid cinema that entertains, thrills and respects the audience’s intelligence. Joe and Kelly have proven they can produce inventive short films that have pleased the European festival circuit, and also winning Best Film Award at Compass of Horror. They are currently in pre-production with the short film „Donor”.

The First World War, London. The prince Yevgeni Burdowski has escaped from the revolution in his homeland and has got into the service of German espionage. As a task he has to announce through the newspaper the name of the town that should be bombed by German air force. Having decided to gun down a man named as a town, Burdowski meets something that he has been hiding very deep inside of him: his past and his origin. Himself. „Garden of forking paths” is a metaphysic spy film that has been inspired by the Argentina author Borges. Labyrinth – the structure or the pattern that is as mysterious as its symbolic. Labyrinth depicts the initiation, dieing that leads to the reincarnation. Margus Paju started his studies at the Tallinn University and graduated its college Baltic Film and Media School (BMF) in Film Arts. „Garden of Forking Paths” (2007) is his third short film. Margus feels that he understands that he still does not understand many things, that world is full of big mysteries. This feeling makes him to wish forward, to believe, to hope and love.

Two lone travellers cross their paths in the dead night. As the miles go by their deadly secrets start to unfold. Antti Laaksoo is studying his fourth year in the Arts Academy of Turku Polytechnic. „Highwaymen” is his third animated short film, but first drawn animation. Antti is now in the process of preparing his graduation film, a puppet movie with an unknown title.

This experimental animation tells a story about one day events which happen to one innocent family. There are five storylines, from four different characters viewpoints. Stories are seemingly random yet vitally connected with the tale of a set of incidents in one day. The animation starts with the end of the story. JiHyun Ahn was born in Seoul in 1980, Korea and spent her childhood in Japan, where she was exposed to many unique animation films. She studied architecture and interior design at Yonsei University in Korea. She studied flash and video animation in School of Visual Arts in New York.

Lonely and pregnant housewife Meeri unintentionally kills her husband during a quarrel. Driven by fear and guilt she slowly, but firmly starts to cover up the murder. Sutharsan Bala was born in Sri Lanka, but emigrated to Norway with his parents in the age of four. He is currently finishing a MA level course at the Baltic Film and Media School. „Lamb to the Slaughter” is his third short film.

Berlin, February 23rd 1959, 11.23 p.m. Hermann is entering the empty entrance hall of the Anhalter Station. The longer he stays in the building the stronger becomes his memories and visions. Daniel Höpfner (born 1971) is a freelance musician and filmmaker, he makes music for dance theatre and low/no-budget films. Daniel studied animation at the HFF Konrad Wolf in Potsdam-Babelsberg.

„Sprössling” tells the story of a woman who grows her dreamchild in a flower pot. But the perfect motherhood has unexpected side effects. Anne Breymann studied Visual Communication at the Academy of Arts in Kassel where she graduated in 2005. Besides directing her own films she works as a puppet and a model maker for international film productions.

Ludger, a mailman in the service of the Deutsche Post, wakes up in a completely foreign und somehow deserted suburban area after having fallen off his postal service bycicle. During the excursions through the maze like streets he finally meets a dubious old man, who apparently knows more about Ludger’s situation than he is admitting for the time being. In his films Sebastian Beele is interested in secrets, which are hidden under the surface of life.
